Reference and Research Services
The Map and Government Information Library staff provides resources and services to UGA students, staff and faculty as well as state, regional, national and international researchers. Reference service is provided on site and by phone, fax, or e-mail. While the Map and Government Information Library staff cannot perform research for patrons, we will provide assistance in both the use of research tools and guides and in locating cartographic materials and government information. In addition, the UGA Libraries maintains a list of Independent Researchers for Hire who are willing to conduct research for a fee.
Classes and Tours
The Map and Government Information Library staff is happy to conduct tours of our facility for classes, small groups, and individuals. To assist with our workflow, classes and groups are asked to schedule tours with a staff member at least a week in advance. Please contact a staff member for further information.
Public computers are available to Map and Government Information Library patrons for research purposes. A username and password is required to use the public computers; non-affiliated patrons should contact a staff member for assistance.
