International Government Documents
British Government Documents
Most British documents are located in the Map and Government Information Library. The University of Georgia Libraries maintains standing orders for the Parliamentary Debates and the Papers of both houses of Parliament of Great Britain. Retrospective volumes date back to 1509. Also included in this collection is the Irish University Press' series entitled British Parliamentary Papers, which is arranged by subject.
This collection contains only the publications of Parliament. Several indexes for use with British Parliamentary documents are available in the Libraries and online (see the guide British Parliamentary Papers and Other British Government Documents).
Government of Canada Publications
The University of Georgia Libraries was a selective depository for publications of the Government of Canada through 2013, when the program Depository Services Program was discontinued. The majority of the collection is housed at the Repository; select science-related Government of Canada publications are shelved on the 4th floor of the Science Library.
Government of Canada publications can be accessed on the Government of Canada Publications site.
Government of Canada publications in our collection published since 2001 can be identified using GIL. Government of Canada publications published since 1992 may be searched and identified on the Government of Canada Publications site. For earlier Government of Canada publications, please ask for assistance at the Map and Government Information Library.
The publications of the provinces and city governments of Canada are not publications of the Government of Canada. Any publications from these levels of government would be in the Libraries' general collection and can be located through GIL.
Government of Canada publications are shelved using the Canadian Document Catalogue Number.
