Accessing Records

The Records Center is open only to the authorized personnel who staff the facility. UGA faculty and staff may access their department's records that are housed at the Records Center through our File Retrieval Form.

We will need the following information in order to retrieve the file(s):

  • Person requesting file

  • Department name

  • Contact phone number or email

  • File name

  • Control number and Box number

  • Delivery through campus mail or by self pick up.

Requests for Access from Members of the Public

University records are, with few exceptions, subject to public access through the Georgia Open Records Act. All requests for records pursuant to the Georgia Open Records Act should be made through UGA's Division of Marketing & Communications.
