Research Help
What types of research help can I get?
Library staff are available to answer your questions and assist in finding resources and information. We can help patrons with disabilities by providing various types of research help including:
- Ready reference assistance for quick answers to short questions
- In-depth assistance with detailed research questions or projects
- Assistance in using print materials, online databases, and other electronic resources
- Help with citing sources and bibliographic verification
How can I get research help?
Library users may request help at the nearest service desk in any library building or by contacting the library in any of these ways:
- By phone: call our general phone number at 706-542-3251 or see additional phone numbers for specific buildings on our Ask A Question page
- By chat: connect on the Libraries homepage or at our Chat with a UGA Research Librarian page or using the Chat link displayed in our databases
- By e-mail: use our online form to send us a question and we will reply to your email address
- By text: send us a short question with your cell phone to 706-890-3228
- Schedule an individual research consultation appointment to meet with a librarian one-on-one
For in-depth research assistance and other extensive services, library patrons with disabilities are encouraged to make an appointment with Eric Griffith, the Disabilities Services Coordinator for the Libraries, at ecg@uga.edu.
