Paid Diary Study on Browser Plugins

Submitted by Chandler Christoffel on

UGA Libraries is seeking faculty, students, and staff who frequently search for scholarly articles off-campus to participate in a paid, remote diary study.

For this study, we are asking participants to use two browser plugins to access academic articles over a four-week period this semester. Participants will complete brief online diary entries as they search for scholarly articles on their own time as part of their usual research process. This study will help us evaluate and promote options for improving access to full-text articles.

Compensation

Participants will receive a $10 Amazon gift card for engaging in each stage of the study. Those who participate in all three stages will receive a $30 Amazon gift card. The first two stages will involve using two different browser plugins over a four-week period, and the third stage will be a 30 – 60 minute interview over zoom. Participants will also be asked to do a 10 minute training session over zoom to learn about the study.
