The Georgia Review was honored to be a finalist for the 2024 American Society of Magazine Editors (ASME) Award for Fiction with stories published in the 2023 volume year: “Shipwreck” by Yiru Zhang, “Mother, Marksman” by Ernie Wang, and “Bridling” by Nadia Davids.
Established in 1966, the National Magazine Awards for Print and Digital Media are sponsored by ASME in association with the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. “Originally limited to print magazines, the awards now recognize magazine storytelling published in any medium,” ASME’s press release states. The other publications announced as finalists in the fiction category were Harper’s Magazine, The New Yorker, and American Short Fiction. The Paris Review was named the winner for this category. The Georgia Review won the award in fiction in 2022.
Winners of other categories will be announced at the 2024 National Magazine Awards ceremony on April 2nd in New York City.
