Graduate Student Open Houses

Check out all that UGA Libraries have to offer you!

On Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 2:00pm-4:00pm, UGA Libraries will be hosting two open houses at the Main Library and Science Library.

These open houses are especially designed for you, our incoming or returning graduate student!

We plan to help you get acquainted (or re-acquainted) with library resources and services. Our quick demos and tours are filled with tips and tricks selected specifically to help you with your work as a graduate student at UGA. And did you know each subject has their own librarian? Come meet yours!

Don’t miss your chance to see the Hargrett Rare Books & Manuscript Library's selections from the Ned Brooks Fanzine Collection at the Science Library! A fun look at science fiction fandom, the zines on display will represent some of the earliest ever published, as well as some created by fandom communities in Athens and Atlanta.

Speaking of fun, you should definitely enter your name into our Dawggone amazing raffle when you visit!

Demo and Tour Times:

Main Library Demo + Tour times: 2:00pm, 2:15pm, 3:00pm

Science Library Demo + Tour times: 2:00pm, 2:30pm, and 3:00pm.

Science Library tour will include a visit to our new Makerspace where you will learn about the technologies available to you and how they can support your academics and research. Raffle drawings will take place at the end of each tour.

Not sure which location to visit?

Are you working in subject areas that focus on the social sciences, humanities, arts, and business? Your best bet will be the Main Library.

Are you working in subject areas that focus on science, technology, engineering, math, and agriculture? Your best bet will be the Science Library.

And of course, you are more than welcome to come to both.

We look forward to meeting you!
