Intro to R for Data Science

A hands-on introduction to the R programming language and RStudio environment for data processing and analysis. The workshop will cover the anatomy of the RStudio interface; how to read in a dataset from your computer; methods for examining and exploring a dataset; commands for filtering, sorting, transforming, and summarizing data, and a brief preview of data visualization using ggplot. By the end of the workshop, students will have the tools to begin the analysis of their own data in R, and a foundation for learning more advanced topics. It is recommended that attendees download R and RStudio prior to the workshop. 6
