The Russell Foundation awards annual scholarships to four active members of UGA’s Georgia Debate Union. The Georgia Debate Union, a program of the UGA Department of Communications Studies, has been active in regional and national debate competitions for over fifty years. In 2019, the team won the American Debate Association national championship and reached the finals of the National Debate Tournament.
