Join us for a guided tour of the exhibit galleries of the Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Awards Collection, the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library and the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies. Participants should meet in the rotunda of on the second floor of the Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries (300 S. Five Georgia writers, including humorist Roy Blount Jr. and political commentator Bill Shipp, will be inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame. Being inducted posthumously are Brainard Cheney, Katharine Du Pre Lumpkin and James Alan McPherson.
The Georgia Writers Hall of Fame events are part of UGA’s Spotlight on the Arts festival celebrating the visual, literary and performing arts at UGA.
Craft demonstrations, old-time music, and creating a tote bag from recycled materials are all on tap for the Family Folk Day, being held in conjunction with the exhibit, “50 Years of Foxfire.”
