Join the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame and the University of Georgia Press on Tuesday, November 10, at 6:00 pm for a talk with Jon Boorstin, author of The American: The Hidden History of Daniel J. Boorstin and His Twentieth Century.  After the talk, attendees will enjoy a reception with light refreshments provided. 

This event is free and open to the public! Books will be available for purchase on site. Parking in the Hull Street Deck is free after 5pm.

Join the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library and the Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Awards Collection on Thursday, November 12th at the Special Collections Libraries auditorium for a free screening of the newly restored Athens, GA: Inside/Out. The 1986 documentary features interviews and concert footage of notable Athens bands, including R.E.M., Pylon, and The B-52s. The film was directed, written, and shot by Tony Gayton, a first-time director who recently graduated from University of Southern California before beginning this project.

This event is free and open to the public, but seats will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Please join the Russell Library on Thursday, November 19 at 11:30 am, for a panel discussion on the results of the 2026 election cycle. Speakers will unpack the election outcomes and analyze potential implications for Georgia and the nation. Panelists include: Maya Prabhu from PeachPol, Trey Hood from the University of Georgia, Karen Owen from the University of West Georgia, and Ronald Keith Gaddie from Texas Christian University 

Bill Crane, communication strategist and Chief Political Analyst for WSB-TV, will moderate the event. Charles S. Bullock III, the UGA Richard B. Russell Chair in Political Science, will deliver concluding remarks.
