"Yawar Mallku" (Blood of the Condor) is a 1969 film by Jorge Sanjinés. Set in Bolivia, the film tells the story of a Peace Corps-like American agency that is secretly sterilizing indigenous women under the guise of providing health care, provoking an uprising by the targeted population. Following the film Dr. Khédija Gadhoum (UGA Department of Romance Languages) will lead a discussion.



This screening is part of the Cinema Politique, a film screening and discussion series that explores politics with an international perspective.
