A reception for the opening of The Head and the Art will be Nov. 30 from 5 pm - 7 pm.
The Head and the Art is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Athens’ artists and scientists that pushes the limits for a better understanding of both areas. The pieces cover topics ranging from forest entomology to mindfulness and psychology, using mediums equally diverse— metalsmithing, weavings, and even tattoo drawings.
Both science and art seek truth and understanding through creativity, problem solving, innovation, and experimentation. Science makes the invisible visible. Art makes the unknowable knowable. Together, there is no limit to our ability to understand the world around us.
