Welcome

Welcome to Tifton, Georgia, the "Reading Capital of the World," for the 20th Annual SAIL Meeting on April 27-30, 2010. Can any librarian resist the temptation to state they have visited the Reading Capital of the World?

Other communities may talk about their southern hospitality but Tifton has bestowed on itself the title of "The Friendly City" to indicate the level of hospitality that visitors can expect here.

If you enjoy activities around grass then Tifton will be a place for you to see. Many of the grasses used on golf courses were developed on the University of Georgia Tifton Campus. Over 300 new plant cultivars have been developed by internationally known scientists on this campus.

The Agrirama is a nineteenth century outdoor agricultural museum that attracts visitors and school groups.

Looking forward to seeing all of you in Tifton and to having a great conference. If you have any questions please contact Duncan McClusky (229-386-3447, mcclusky@uga.edu).
