• The Staff Representative Group will consist of ten members representing the divisions of the libraries as follows:
  • Administrative Services-(those departments permanently reporting directly to the University Librarian)-3
  • Public Services-3
  • Collection Services-4

Qualifications for Position: Those seeking to serve as SRG representatives must be classified staff employees of the libraries within the division they will represent if elected. Those seeking nomination must have permission of their supervisor and must have completed their six month probationary period.

Duration of Position: Elections should take place on a regular yearly basis in May, not including special elections. The term of office is one year with the option of staying in the position for an additional year without participating in a general election. Those representatives elected to fill unexpected terms are eligible to run next general election, at which point if elected they may serve for two years. If a representative transfers within the libraries from one division to another, that seat on the SRG is forfeited immediately upon beginning their new position. If a representative resigns from the libraries, that seat on the SRG will become open the last day of employment.

Re-election Eligibility: Representatives may serve unlimited consecutive terms as long as the general eligibility requirements are met and the normal nominating and election procedures are fulfilled every two years.
