 The
Libraries Staff Representative Group (SRG) is composed of
10 members from the various organizational divisions of
the UGA Libraries. Libraries SRG is part of a larger
system of University-wide bodies which are responsible
for representing the interests of the classified staff
employees at the University of Georgia. Libraries' SRG is
but one of a number of such groups at the grassroots
level of these bodies, and represents the classified
staff interests of UGA Libraries staff to larger bodies.

At the next
organizational level, Libraries SRG reports to the SRG
for the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The VPAA-SRG,
in turn, reports to the Staff Council, the University-wide
Classified Staff representative body. Just as
delegates from Libraries SRG are sent to VPAA-SRG, so too
does VPAA-SRG send delegates to the Staff Council. This
ensures some degree of continuity of representation from
the employee level to the administration level. In short,
Libraries SRG is not intended to replace standard
channels of communication and information, but rather to
supplement them. We also serve as a voice for classified
staff concerns with the Libraries Administration, with
whom we share a constructive working relationship.
