- A Central
Election Board shall be appointed by the
SRG. It shall be comprised of one
classified staff member from each
division, said position to be filled
first by those persons rotating off of
active positions on the SRG. In the event
that more than one representative from a
given division is leaving SRG, the
departing member with the longest tenure
shall sit on the Central Election Board.
These departing SRG members shall be
charged with the responsibility of
ensuring that there is full
representation of each division on the
CEB.

- Incoming
nominees or seated SRG members shall not
be seated on the CEB.

- The Central
Election Board shall be responsible to
the SRG for the call for nominations; the
distribution of lists of nominees; the
production, distribution, collection, and
counting of election ballots; and the
report of election results.

- The nominees for
each division shall be made known by the
Central Election Board at least two weeks
prior to the election date.
|
- Absentee ballots
shall be made available by the Central
Election Board to any staff member who
will not be able to vote during the
election. It is the responsibility of
each staff member to obtain an absentee
ballot when neccessary.

- The
representatives for each division shall
be elected to office by a simple majority
of those voting. Election results should
be made known by the Central Election
Board immediately following the election.
Any announcement concerning a tie vote
should be made known at this time.

- The Central
Election Board shall adopt uniform
procedures for the conduct of elections
for all divisions.
|
- Special
Elections: Special elections will be held
under three circumstances: If a member of
SRG transfers from one division within
the libraries to another, if a member
resigns from SRG and if a member resigns
from their position within the libraries.
These elections should be conducted two
weeks before or after the representative
leaves the SRG. Special elections will be
conducted by the remaining members of the
SRG.
