How to Request Material
To explore the collections of the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, the Richard B. Russell Library for Political Research and Studies, or the Walter J. Brown Media Archives and Peabody Award Collections, please visit their websites to search their collection databases:

- Requesting Material via Online Collection Guides
1) Search for collections based on keywords and names. Open the collection inventory by clicking on the title.
2) Click the box on the left side of the screen that says Request Material
3) Select the boxes you would like to use by checking the check box
4) Click the Submit Request button
5) A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help staff retrieve pertinent material, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material.
6) Once the request is submitted, you will be taken to your Special Collections Research Account to log in. If you do not have a Special Collections Research Account, you will have an opportunity to create one. - Requesting Material via GILFind
1) Search for books and journals housed in the Special Collections Libraries in GILFind - http://gilfind.uga.edu/. We recommend using Mozilla Firefox.
2) Open the record for the item by clicking on the title.
3) Click on the Request button located below the green tab labeled Holdings.
4) A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help staff retrieve pertinent material, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material.
5) Click the Submit Request button
6) Once the request is submitted, you will be taken to your Special Collections Research Account to log in. If you do not have a Special Collections Research Account, you will have an opportunity to create one.
