- Requesting Material via Online Databases

Russell and Hargrett collections

1) Search for collections based on keywords and names. Open the collection inventory by clicking on the title.

2) Click the box on the left side of the screen that says Request Material

3) Select the boxes you would like to use by checking the check box

4) Click the Submit Request button

5) A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help staff retrieve pertinent material, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material.

6) Once the request is submitted, you will be taken to your Special Collections Research Account to log in. If you do not have a Special Collections Research Account, you will have an opportunity to create one. Media Archives Peabody and Newsfilm collections

1) Search the Peabody Awards database and the Newsfilm collection database. Open the record of the item you would like to view. For items in the Newsfilm database, click on the hyperlinked clip number. For items in the Peabody Awards database, click on the title of the program.

2) Click on Request Program, located in the upper right portion of the page.

3) A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help staff retrieve pertinent material, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material.

4) Once the request is submitted, you will be taken to your Special Collections Research Account to log in. If you do not have a Special Collections Research Account, you will have an opportunity to create one. - Requesting Material via GILFind

1) Search for books and journals housed in the Special Collections Libraries in GILFind - http://gilfind.uga.edu/. We recommend using Mozilla Firefox.

2) Open the record for the item by clicking on the title.

3) Click on the Request button located below the green tab labeled Holdings.

4) A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help staff retrieve pertinent material, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material.

5) Click the Submit Request button

6) Once the request is submitted, you will be taken to your Special Collections Research Account to log in. If you do not have a Special Collections Research Account, you will have an opportunity to create one. - Requesting Material via your Special Collections Research Account

1) Create or log into your UGA Special Collections Research Account.

2) Under the heading Find Resources located on the left side of the page, click the name of the department with the material you wish to see.

3) Search for collections based on keywords and names. Open the collection inventory by clicking on the title.

4) Click the box on the left side of the screen that says Request Material

5) Select the boxes you would like to use by checking the check box

6) Click the Submit Request button

7) A window will pop up requesting that you: 1) confirm your selection, 2) add any notes that will help staff retrieve pertinent material, and 3) choose whether to save your request to submit later or select a date when you want to come in to see the material.

8) Once the request is submitted, you will be taken to your Special Collections Research Account

- Requesting Material via your Special Collections Research Account (Media Archives Material ONLY)

1) Create or log into your UGA Special Collections Research Account.

2) Click on the link labeled Brown Media Archives under the heading labeled Request an Item

3) Fill in the appropriate information and press Submit Request.
