Following are two Red
and Black editorials by Bill Shipp: "Created Equal," which was written
on November 5, 1953 challenging the efficacy of racial segregation in Georgia's public
schools, and "No Other Road Open," which was written on November 12, 1953 in response to threatening comments
made by Roy V. Harris. Walter A. Lundy's subsequent December 2, 1953 resignation letter to the Red and
Black follows.
