The audiovisual materials from the D.W. Brooks Papers complement the paper materials documenting Brooks' life and his ventures in cooperative farming with an emphasis on the years between 1972 and 1991. Included are three commercially-produced 16mm films that provide background on Brooks' life and career. The first, D.W. Brooks: a Great Georgian , is a thirty-minute documentary produced by the University of Georgia in 1972 that examines Brooks' accomplishments of the past three decades. The second film, Together, produced by the Brooks-founded Cotton Producers Association in 1961, is a thirty-minute industrial film detailing the advances in cotton farming technology in the twentieth century due to the formation of farming cooperatives. The third film, To Fill a Need , another thirty-minute industrial film made in 1961 by the Cotton Producers Association, explains the nature of the Cotton Producers Association and the services they provide. Also included in the collection are five videotapes including recordings of the 1986 Gold Kist Annual Meeting, the Gold Kist 50th Anniversary Meeting, and Brooks' 90th birthday celebration. The fifteen audio recordings in the collection include events upon which Brooks was given awards (including the the 1977 Shining Light Award and the 1982 Dixie Business Award) for service and accomplishments, four audio discs of Brooks' self-recorded memoirs, as well as a recording of Brooks' memorial service.
