Information About Film
This bibliography is a selective list
of reference materials about film which are available in the University
of Georgia Libraries. In trying to keep it relatively small, I have
left out of the bibliography many of the more specialized sources in
both the reference and circulating collections. If you do not find what
you need in this list, look in the GIL
Libraries' Catalog or ask a reference librarian for assistance.
Media
Department Video Collection
The Media Department on the seventh
floor of the Main Library has a collection of commercial videorecordings
that includes educational documentaries, classic cinema, and international
titles. These films are not available for checkout and must be viewed
in the Media Department, where space is available for both individual
and group screenings. Films in the collection are currently being added
to the online catalog. Since not all films are listed yet on GIL, also
check in the title list located in the Media Department. For more information,
see the Media
Department's homepage.

and housed in the Library of Congress. In this catalog, the films are
listed by type, with each entry including a plot synopsis.

times during the past half century, this remains one of the most complete
listings of American film production. Entries are brief, but they do
include producer, major credits, running time, and content synopsis.

This guide covers over 2,000 seminal
