UGA Libraries' Undergraduate Research Awards

Enrich your research!

The UGA Libraries is offering seven awards for CURO students (all academic levels) and UGA Seniors which will provide cash prizes for excellence in research and academic inquiry. The CURO (Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities) program is open to ALL undergraduates. See http://www.uga.edu/honors/curo/ to find out how to participate in CURO.

Prize amounts total $2000 and are split into the following categories:

  • Seniors: one $500 first prize and three $200 second prizes (award open to CURO students and all Seniors who apply complete an application to participate in the CURO Symposium)
  • First - Third Year Students: one $500 first prize and two $200 second prizes (award open to CURO students)

Whether you are creating a historical thesis, policy paper, composition for piano or a scientific study, you are eligible to apply for this award upon completing the following:

  • 3-4 page essay describing and reflecting upon your research project
  • Meet with a librarian for a research conference

2008 Winners

The UGA Libraries Undergraduate Research Award jurors have announced the 2008 Winners . Awards were presented at the CURO Symposium awards reception on March 31st at 8pm in the Classic Center's Fire Hall.
