The database includes references to all publications of the U.S. Geological Survey. Masters' theses and doctoral dissertations from US and Canadian universities are also covered. GeoRef In Process contains records that are, literally, in the process of being indexed prior to their integration in the main GeoRef database. - SciFinder Scholar combines the contents of databases produced by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) and MEDLINE from the National Library of Medicine:
- The Chemical Abstracts database contains documents from journals, patents, conference proceedings, dissertations, technical papers, and books going back to 1967 and covering all fields of chemistry, including physical, analytical, inorganic, applied, macromolecular, organic, and biochemistry.
- The MEDLINE database indexes biomedical literature back to 1958.
- The CAS Registry provides structure diagrams, names, molecular formulas, and more for specific substances, including organic compounds, biosequences, coordination compounds, polymers, alloys, and tabular inorganics.
- The CAS REACT database, indexing journals from 1985 and patents from 1991, provides reaction information from single- and multi-step reactions, displaying hit reactions, structures for reactants, reagents and products, all reaction participants (solvents and catalysts), and reference information.

eBooks at EBSCOhost, formerly known as NetLibrary, provides access to electronic books (eBooks), including reference books, scholarly monographs, publications of many university presses, and consumer books that have been converted into digital format. It is possible to perform full-text searches of a single eBook, search thousands of volumes simultaneously, browse topic categories, or read eBooks directly online. There is currently no checkout period for eBooks (at EBSCOhost).
Users can create a My EBSCOhost account in order to use personalization tools, including creating a Favorites list, but a personal account is not required for accessing eBooks through the GALILEO interface.

- The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species provides taxonomic, conservation status and distribution information on taxa that have been evaluated using the IUCN Red List Categories (designed to determine the relative risk of extinction). The main purpose of the IUCN Red List is to catalogue and highlight those taxa that are facing a higher risk of global extinction. The IUCN Red List also includes information on taxa that are categorized as Extinct or Extinct in the Wild; or taxa that cannot be evaluated because of insufficient information; and on Lower Risk taxa which are either close to meeting the threatened thresholds or that would be threatened were it not for an ongoing taxon-specific conservation programme.

- The Mammal Species of the World (MSW) is a database of mammalian taxonomy. Species recognized in this database are limited to existing or recently extinct species (possibly alive during the preceding 500 years); in instances where the persistence of a species is doubtful, the comment field so indicates. - The Statistical Abstract of the United States Online compiles statistical tables from a wide array of federal, state, and local agencies; nonprofit and industry associations; and research organizations. Although the database began in 2013, some tables include historical statistics back as far as 1790. The source of the data is attached to each table, making the Statistical Abstract an excellent starting place for identifying more in-depth statistics. Many of the full statistical reports summarized in the Statistical Abstract are available in the ProQuest Statistical Insight database. The Statistical Abstract of the United States was published by the federal government between 1878-2012. These earlier editions are available on the Census Bureau website and in print in the Map & Government Information Library located within the Main Library.
