The Civil Engineering Database (CEDB) provides bibliographic access to all ASCE publications.
- This database covers all ASCE journals, conference proceedings, books, standards, manuals, magazines, and newspapers. Journal papers with abstracts go back to 1970. Non-abstract journal records go back to 1958. The book records are complete dating back to the early 1900s. The database is constantly expanded and enriched.

Ei Engineering Village

Comprehensive research from engineering journals and conferences.
- Ei Engineering Village 2 is the most comprehensive bibliographic database of engineering research literature, containing references to over 5000 engineering journals and conferences. About half the citations (from 2600 journals and conferences) include abstracts and indexing in the records. The highest percentages of journal literature are in the fields of chemical and process engineering, computers and data processing, applied physics and electronics and communication. In addition, Ei Engineering Village 2 includes civil and mechanical engineering.

- The ASABE Technical Library> contains:
  - ASABE's three journals: Applied Engineering in Agriculture, Journal of Agricultural Safety and Health and Transactions of the ASABE (ASAE).
  - Papers presented at its meetings and conferences.
  - Technical books including textbooks and monographs.
  - ASABE Standards and Engineering Practices are voluntary, consensus industry standards developed and adopted by ASABE.
  The site was launched in January 2001 with technical documents added as they were published through out the year. Some material published prior to 2001 has been added to the site in PDF only format. More is scheduled to be added as funds allow.

- Materials Research Database comprises the following databases: * Aluminium Industry Abstracts * Ceramic Abstracts/World Ceramics Abstracts * Copper Data Center * Corrosion Abstracts * Engineered Materials Abstracts * Materials Business File * METADEX Materials Research Database covers publications related to materials science, metals, alloys, ceramics, polymers, and engineering composites. Topics covered include raw materials, processing, refining, end uses, performance, and recycling, as well as business aspects of materials science. Databases begin in the 1960s, 1970s or 1980s; select older references are included. Updates are monthly, with about 100,000-125,000 records added annually. Records are bibliographic, including indexing and abstracts (if available), but not full text online. Sources covered include 3,469 periodicals, conference proceedings, technical reports, trade publications, patents, books, and press releases. Within METADEX, about 15% of the covered sources are designated "core" and are indexed cover to cover; the remaining 85% are designated "priority" (over 50% indexed) or "selective" (less than 50% indexed). A journal may be "core" within one database in the group, but "selective" in other databases.

- SciFinder Scholar combines the contents of databases produced by the Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) and MEDLINE from the National Library of Medicine:
  - The Chemical Abstracts database contains documents from journals, patents, conference proceedings, dissertations, technical papers, and books going back to 1967 and covering all fields of chemistry, including physical, analytical, inorganic, applied, macromolecular, organic, and biochemistry.
  - The MEDLINE database indexes biomedical literature back to 1958.
  - The CAS Registry provides structure diagrams, names, molecular formulas, and more for specific substances, including organic compounds, biosequences, coordination compounds, polymers, alloys, and tabular inorganics.
  - The CAS REACT database, indexing journals from 1985 and patents from 1991, provides reaction information from single- and multi-step reactions, displaying hit reactions, structures for reactants, reagents and products, all reaction participants (solvents and catalysts), and reference information.

- Web of Science provides access to the Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index covering over 8,000 journal. These three databases can be searched separately, in any combination, or all at once. These databases are unique in that the user can search to find which articles have cited a certain author or article. This technique of doing research, called pearl growing, allows researchers to find articles that are related to an earlier work. Often this technique turns up articles which are not found through traditional subject and keyword searches.
