- The Making of Modern Law: Trials 1600-1926 provides the full text of thousands of accounts of trials printed in books and pamphlets. The database covers trials in the United States, Britain, Ireland and Canada plus a few English language accounts of trials from other jurisdictions such as France. Popular accounts are included in addition to published trial transcripts and other associated documents. Excluded are works about "trials" as a subject. The sources used in this database come principally from the Harvard and Yale law libraries as well as the Library of the Association of Bar of the City of New York and the British Library. In addition to their great importance for the study of law, government, and history the trial accounts are valuable for the incidental social and cultural detail revealed in their pages.

It provides full text page image access to more than 61,000 historical works of economic and business literature contained in the Goldsmiths' Library (University of London) and the Kress Library of Economic Literature (Harvard University) and other sources. The database comprises primarily works published between 1450 and 1850 but also a few works published after 1850 and includes many works in French and other European languages.
