    Placing Orders

To place an order with Imaging Services, you may bring materials to our location in the sub-basement of the Main Library on the UGA campus. An imaging technician will review the materials and discuss your image capture, reproduction, and storage options. Directions and parking information for the Main Library are available here.

    Please Note

    • Public service hours: We operate with limited walk-in public service hours, as we serve several different UGA Libraries and University System of Georgia units. If you are not able to come during our public service hours, we are more than happy to help accomodate your schedule by appointment. Please refer to our contact information to schedule an appointment.
    • All prices are for items that do not require special handling: Items that require special handling may incur additional charges.
    • Maximum print output size: Although we can capture images up to 30" x 40", our largest standard print output size is currently 11" x 14" for photographic prints, and 11" x 17" for color laser prints.
    • Color corrections and photo retouching: In order to provide a level of service for library users to gain access to images from our non-circulating collections at a price that is as reasonable as possible, we maintain a simplified level of service for everyone. Therefore, we do not provide services offered by larger commercial service bureaus, such as extensive color corrections or retouching. As a courtesy, our experienced staff is happy to recommend outside vendors should there be any services that we have limited on-site capability to perform.
    • UGA Libraries retains all Special Collections film negatives Prints from original or copy negatives will not necessarily be identical in format or tonal values to a print on file in the Library or seen in a publication. No retouching is performed to eliminate imperfections existing in the negative or the original material.
    • Rush services: Please allow 7-10 business days for all imaging services. In some cases, such as particularly dense collections, or work with fragile materials, the turnaround time may be longer. A rush fee will be charged for items requested within 3 business days. Rush fees are 100% of the job cost.
    • Shipping: All shipping is by US Mail; shipping charges will be added to the invoice. We will also ship via UPS or FedEx provided that customers supply us with appropriate account numbers for direct billing.

ILL/ Special Collections Requests: If you are requesting prints, slides, or scans from materials in our library, contact your Interlibrary Loan Office. For Special Collections requests, contact a staff member from the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library or the Richard B. Russell Library.
