About AvantGo
Using the AvantGo Mobile Internet service, you can download web content and applications to your PDA. AvantGo service is free for personal use. AvantGo currently supports Palm Computing devices and Microsoft Windows CE or Pocket PC devices.

The AvantGo web page provides step-by-step instructions for downloading and installing AvantGo software. AvantGo software for the Macintosh is available.

AvantGo Channels
An AvantGo "channel" is a web page downloaded to your PDA. You can subscribe to several channels, up to 2MB of data, through your AvantGo account. The channels you select will be updated when you sync your PDA.

The AvantGo home page links to hundreds of channels. Content providers include national news sources like The New York Times or the Weather Channel, resources like MapQuest driving directions or Encarta Language Learning units, and local information like the Athens Banner-Herald or UGA News.

You can also use the Create Channel form or the Channel Wizard to download information from any web page to your PDA. Adjusting the options on the Create Channel form or Channel Properties form may help web pages display readably if they have not been written to be read on PDAs.

Once you have established your AvantGo account, you will be able to sign in to the AvantGo web page on any computer connected to the Internet and add, delete, or edit the specifications of your channels. Any changes made to your account will take effect the next time you sync your PDA on your home or office machine. Back
