Faculty and Graduate Student Policies

Materials from the Media Archives and Peabody Awards Collection do not circulate.

However, faculty and graduate students with faculty permission may borrow materials for classroom use.

Visual materials.

Up to three (3) videorecordings may be borrowed at a time. Videorecordings must be returned within 24 hours of checkout or by closing on the days when the Media Department closes early. Videorecordings must be returned to the Media Department on the seventh floor of the Main Library and not left in the book drop. Do not leave a videorecording in your car or in the sun! Failure to return the videorecordings cancels any further borrowing privileges and the following will be applied as necessary:

Fines of $3.00 per day will be charged for each overdue item, and no other materials may be checked out until all overdue items are returned and fines cleared.
Borrowers are responsible for the replacement cost of damaged materials. Faculty are responsible for the items borrowed by their graduate students.
The Libraries' Access Services may suspend all library privileges and/or block class registration for failure to return materials and/or meet financial obligations.

Audio materials.

Up to three (3) sound recordings may be borrowed at a time and must be returned within three (3) days of checkout. To use recordings from this collection, you must get a permission slip from the Media Dept. on the 7th floor. You then take the slip and the recording(s) to Access Services on the first floor to officially check out. Sound recordings must be returned to the Circulation Desk on the first floor of the Main Library and not left in the book drop. Do not leave sound recordings in your car or in the sun! There are no renewals. Failure to return sound recordings cancels any further privileges and the following will be applied as necessary:

The Media Department Graduate Student Permission forms must be updated each semester.
