Black History Month 2004 Exhibit Virtual Tour -
Peabody Awards Collection videos on School Desegregation, Busing, and Education
for African Americans
The Peabody Awards Collection
contains several hundred videos that focus entirely or in part on issues related
to African American education. As well as comprehensive historical programs
about education generally, the Collection contains programs which focus on issues
related to the desegregation of schools in twenty-two states and the District
of Columbia. Many of these programs are locally-produced news features and documentaries.
Together, they provide a unique and powerful insight into the story of school
desegregation in this country. For ease of searching, we have divided these
programs into three general categories:
K-12 education, school
desegregation, and busing (organized by state)
