Arnold Michaelis interviews Martin Luther King, Jr.



In this interview, conducted in 1964, Dr. King talks about the times when dissent is more patriotic than unquestioning agreement and asks whether peace can ever be achieved through violence. Although they were spoken 40 years ago, his words hold special relevance for us today.

Thinking About Martin

Athens-Clarke County schoolchildren create art inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., students from Cleveland, Timothy, and Gaines Elementary Schools created artwork on the theme of "Continuing the Legacy." That art is on display at the Main Library on the University of Georgia Campus from January 16-31, 2003. On January 17, a reception was held in honor of the young artists whose work is featured in the exhibit.
