The Georgia Folklore Collection contains field recordings of Georgia folk musicians made by George Mitchell, Art Rosenbaum, and other volunteers that were part of the Georgia Folklore Society. The over one thousand hours of music, interviews, and storytelling includes rare and lively performances by the Tanners, the Rev. Howard Finster, and the McIntosh County Shouters, a group from the Georgia coast whose members continue the musical traditions of their slave ancestors. A printed version of the finding aid for this collection is also available in the Media Department.
