Georgia Department of Natural Resources Film and Videotape Unit Collection

This collection consists of original pre-production elements and film prints from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Film and Videotape Unit, now disbanded. The unit documented Georgia state parks, natural habitats, wildlife, and outdoor activities around the state. Much of the footage shot by the film unit was used in Georgia Public Broadcasting's program, "Georgia Outdoors."

The collection spans the 1970s through the 1990s, but is not a complete archive of all the unit's output. Also included is film footage collected by the department, dating to the 1950s.

Film print titles available on 16mm include:
Boating Safety
Georgia, The Industrial State
Joy of Fishing
Pampering Your Pond
Patterns of Change
Quail, Prince of Game Birds
Safe Play
Safety on the Water: A guide to Boating in Georgia
Sandhill Survivors
Some Fine Hunting
To Tempt a Trout

An inventory of the holdings is available in the Media Archives. The collection is currently untransferred and not fully cataloged.
