The Map Library has a large collection of Aerial Imagery from Georgia.

United States Geological Survey
For general information on aerial and satellite imagery from the USGS,

The National Air Photography
Program is an interagency Federal effort coordinated by the USGS,
which uses NAPP products to revise maps. The NAPP program encompasses
the entire lower 48 states and Hawaii.
The EROS Data Center is the major
U.S. government source for satellite imagery and aerial photography.
The Air
Photo Summary Record System lists all air photo projects done by
Federal agencies and many done by state and local agencies in the U.S.
A CD-ROM version of APSRS is available for patron use in the Map Library.
The National Digital Orthophoto
Program publishes computer-resolved air photos of the U.S. Images
from this series are available in the Map Library.
Department of Agriculture
The Aerial Photography Field Office
of the Farm Service Agency, until recently called ASCS, has filmed all
the agricultural land in the country since the late 1930s. This is the
major source of historical air photos for the U.S.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
NOAA
Satellites and Information is a source for some of NOAA's environmental
satellite data.
Other Sources
The National Air Photo Library
is Canada's governmental site for aerial photography of Canada.
SSEC Real Time Data.
The Space Science and Engineering Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
makes geostationary satellite data available including the latest land/sea
temperatures and clouds images, GOES 8 and 9 imagery, and composites
for the world and Antarctica.

Atlas of Canada.
An outstanding site that provides base maps, geographical names, and
thematic maps. From Natural Resources Canada.
Mapping Medieval Townscapes. A digital atlas of the new towns of Edward I. The atlas uses mapping as a medium to explore how urban landscapes were shaped in the middle ages.

Color Landform
Atlas of the United States. Contains a color landforms shaded-relief
map of the U.S. in two versions, with and without county boundaries.
Kentucky Atlas and Gazetteer.
An excellent online informational atlas and gazetteer with some nice
maps, including one of Kentucky covered bridges.

The Altimetry Atlas.
This page includes mean sea surface and gravity anomaly maps for the
Indian and Atlantic Oceans.
Global Atlas of
Palaeovegetation Since the Last Glacial Maximum. Vegetation maps

The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention makes EPI
Map and other parts of their epidemiological software packages freely
available. EPI Map is a program for IBM-compatible microcomputers that
display data using geographic or other maps.
ESRI Free GIS Software, Data and More. The ESRI page has links to some good free materials.
Map Maker. A GIS software designed
for non-expert users in developing countries.

Global Relief - Surface of the Earth. This NOAA National Geophysical

Interactive Mapping Programs
CARA -- California Rivers
Assessment. The ICE Maps system has a very nice interactive mapper
for California data.
Census Data Access
Tools. This Census page gives access to many of the tools that can
be used to interactively map census data.
EarthNow! image viewer is now live at the USGS Center for Earth
Resources Observation and Science (EROS) in South Dakota and at the Air
and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. It displays near real-time data from
the Landsat 5 and Landsat 7 satellites as they pass over the United States.
Flash Earth. An experimental application that uses satellite and aerial imagery from online mapping web sites.
Google Earth. A 3D interface with the planet. It puts a planet's worth of imagery and other geographic information right on your desktop.
Google Maps. Google, the Internet search engine, has an interactive map for the U.S. Give it an address and get a street map.
MapQuest. An online site for
mapping and driving directions.
The National Map is an online, interactive map service provided by the USGS. You can view The National Map by using your Web browser (no special software or download required).
Yahoo! Maps. Yahoo, the Internet

Hargrett
Library. The Hargrett Rare Book Library of the University of Georgia
has digitized all their rare map collection. Only 200 of the maps are
available to the net at this site.
Historic
Maps of Dutch Cartographers. Several Dutch maps are posted including
Blaeu's Toonneel der Steden (1652)

History of Cartography.

New York State Maps.

Social Explorer. Provides easy access to historical census data for the United States through the use of interactive maps and reports
16th- Early 20th Century Maps of Africa. This site features digital copies of 113 antique maps of Africa and accompanying text dating from the mid 16th Century to the early 20th Century. All scanned maps are authentic and originally collected by the Melville J. Herskovits Library of African Studies (or the Africana Library) at Northwestern University.

CommonCensus Map Project is a redrawing the map of the United States based on the boundaries people themselves feel, as opposed to the state and county boundaries drawn by politicians.
National Archeological
Database. Various maps are available through this site. It is
