The paper collection consists of over 230,000 photos from the late 1930s through the mid-1990s. The aerial photographs in the Map and Government Information Library were produced by a variety of state and federal agencies, including the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Geological Survey, as well as for projects done by academics and private companies.
