Pitch-in
or Purchase: Flower and Bake Sale, ASSET Raffle
On Friday, February 13, 10 - 2 in
the Main and Science Libraries, the Libraries Staff Association
will sell flower bouquets and delicious baked goods, as well as
raffle tickets ($3 each or $5/2)for dinner and a movie for two at The
National and Cine. Bouquets ($5-$20), individual roses ($4), carnations
($1.50), and irises ($2) will be for sale. Part of the proceeds for the
flower and bake sale will go to sponsor LSA's spelling bee team at the Spirited
Spell-Off Spectacle, a fundraiser for the Athens-Clarke Literacy Council.
The raffle proceeds will go to sponsor the 2009 ASSET awards, and tickets
are $3 each ($5 for two).

Three intrepid
library staff members, Abby Griner (Russell), Catherine Lind (ILL),
and Julia Thomas (Gov Dovs), will represent LSA as the Orthograbees
in the annual Athens-Clarke Literacy
Council Spirited Spell-Off Spectacle. The
bee will be held Saturday, February 28, at 4
p.m. in the Athens Tech
Auditorium. Support your team by shopping at the flower sale

the Date: Dues Drive, All Staff Party
We will have our annual dues
drive next month, and the All-Staff Party will be held March
10. More

Thank you again, library staffers, for helping us help Georgia families.
We collected a total of 139 pounds of food for the Food
Bank of Northeast Georgia. We also raised $715
to buy presents for a family of five (Rita, Brendishai, Cirnovonte,
Zechariah, and Aziyah) living at the Athens
Area Homeless Shelter and
donate funds to shelter operations. You gave $515, and LSA provided
$200 in matching funds. Santa would be proud.
