The Paraprofessional Division of the Georgia Library Association announces its 2007 Paraprofessional Grants. Five $250 Award Grants will be given to the winners to facilitate their attendance at GaCOMO 2007 – GLA's Annual Convention to be held in Jekyll Island, Georgia October 17-19, 2007. The deadline for submission of application / recommendation forms is Monday, July 16, 2007.
Libraries Book Club
The first meeting of the LSA Book Club, organized by Jason Hasty, LSA president, and Anne Devine (pictured), was held this week to discuss Carson McCullers' The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. Anyone willing to lead a discussion or to suggest future selections, contact Jason (email@example.com) or Anne (firstname.lastname@example.org). Information will be available on the LSA website.
The "Knitting" Club meets every Friday after work (5ish) on the second level of Starbucks. And you don't even have to knit! Anyone with craft-ish projects is welcome. People have seen knitting, crocheting, and even armorsmithing!
