Kudos

Jesse Flavin (ILL) joined with former Libraries employees Liz Durrett and Rob Lomax to form the Log or Rhea team in the Spririted Spell-Off Spectacle to benefit the Athens-Clarke Literacy Council, which is coordinated by Sarah McKee (NGE). In a bold move, Log or Rhea successfully challenged their initial elimination, but did not ultimately prevail in the Bee. Coincidentally (presciently?), logorrhea was on the list of Spelling Bee words!

Who's Leaving the Libraries

When the Ilah Dunlap Little Library opened in 1953, Claire Colombo .... was not here. But, she has spent a lot of years here since then and contributed in ways too numerous to mention. There are few aspects of the UGA Libraries that her far-reaching department does not touch. Claire, a Librarian IV and head of Access Services, will retire effective April 1, 2007. Congratulations, Claire, on your retirement. We wish you well and many years of happy relaxation.
