Change your password!

The deadline to change your MyID password to a "strong" password is Jan. 31 to comply with a set of security standards that make passwords difficult to guess or compromise, thus protecting you against unauthorized access to your email and other accounts.

Anyone who has not changed his or her password by February 1 will not be able to access services that require the MyID.

Passwords can be changed at the MyID Web site: http://myid.uga.edu.

Who's Leaving the Libraries

After nearly four decades with the UGA Libraries, Linda Elkins, Librarian III in Peabody Awards, is retiring at the end of the month -- for the second time! When Linda joined the Libraries, there was one "experimental computer;" the library staff was small enough that one set of china was adequate for the monthly covered dish luncheons they held; the annex of the Main Library was five years from construction and the Science "library" was one room in a basement, she recounted in an article written on the occasion of her first, temporary, retirement. Linda has worked in several library departments and, since 1990, has been with the Peabody Awards Archives in the media department. Thank you, Linda! Have a long, productive and happy retirement!
