Kudos

Jill Severn of Russell is the vice president/president-elect of the Society of Georgia Archivists. The honor was announced at the annual SGA meeting in Augusta.

Lisa Storey, Serials, finished her first marathon in 5 hours, 21 minutes December 4. Participants in the New Las Vegas Marathon ran down the Strip, the first time the Strip's been closed! Lisa was among about 11,000 runners. The winner was from Kenya (he ran it in 2 hours, 11 minutes!). Lisa and her colleague Dana Walker have run 2 half-marathons together (both were the Nashville Country Music 1/2 Marathon, 2005 & 2004. Dana plans to run in the half marathon in Disneyland in January.

The UGA Libraries generous staff gave $35 in cash and more than 60 pounds of food to the Northeast Georgia Food Bank to start the holiday season! "Angels" also shopped and wrapped gifts for 20 children throught he Salvation Army program!
