Libraries Events


The Georgia Museum of Art, the University of Georgia Press and the State Botanical Garden of Georgia will host an autumn book sale Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Georgia Museum of Art.

Each institution will be selling selections from their stocks of publications at discounted prices. Visitors also are encouraged to visit the galleries while at the museum and learn more about both the State Botanical Garden and the UGA Press.

In addition to the book sale, activities will be offered for children in honor of the fall season. Children under 12 are invited to participate in a costume contest throughout the day, while free refreshments and face painting also will be offered.

Main Library: The prime real estate in the Main Library lobby display cases is available after November 1 (Tuesday) if anyone would like to showcase their programs, services or collections. Contact Jean at jclevela@uga.edu. Please!

Russell Library: "Power to the People," a look at the Rural Electrification Act and its effects on Georgia and its people. Remember, group tours can be arranged AND the Russell has special Saturday hours, 1 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., except on home football days. Spread the word!
