Several reference librarians made presentations at the Georgia Conference on
Information Literacy, held last Friday at Georgia Southern. Anna Van Scoyoc and
Sheila Devaney presented on "Immersion: The 'BI to IL' Continuum" and
Caroline Cason, Kristin Nielson and (and Ron Balthazor of the English Dept) presented
on "EMMA (Electronic Markup and Management Application): Innovations in the
Writing Classroom and Applications for Research in Information Literacy." The

UGA Libraries faculty made several presentations at this year's GA COMO program.
Carla Buss, Caroline Cason, Nadine Cohen, Sheila Devaney, Florence King, Deborah Stanley
and Anna Van Scoyoc spoke on “Club SLC: Librarians Go Electric”; Susan Curtis addressed
“Just Getting a Degree”; Toby Graham gave an update on DLG developments; Nan McMurry
and Kristin Nielsen addressed a survey of humanities and social sciences departments;
Cynthia Prosser gave a presentation on e-reserves at the Science Library; and
Monica Pereira spoke on “Acts, Institutions, People: Collaborating for Access
