EndNote and RefWorks at UGA
EndNote and RefWorks: your scholarly writing solutions
To enhance the learning environment, the UGA Libraries continues site licenses, training and support for EndNote, the premier academic writing software, and RefWorks, a web-based writing tool that is fast-growing in popularity. Both licenses are funded by the Student Technology Fee and there is no charge to members of the UGA community.

RefWorks
RefWorks is a popular web-based bibliography tool and is also available to the UGA community. As a web-based service, there is no software to download and install. You do not need to own a computer to use RefWorks. It stores your references on a distant server, password protected and ready to insert into your scholarly writing from any computer with an internet connection -- that portability is one of its most valued features.
As does EndNote, RefWorks has partnered with many GALILEO information providers to offer an effortless transfer of your selected references from GALILEO into your private database.
RefWorks may be especially useful for those who don't own a computer since your personal library of references can be accessed from any computer with an internet connection.

Exploiting your scholarly GALILEO databases was never easier than with EndNote or RefWorks
Store electronic bibliographic records (thousands of them!) from scholarly databases, complete with keywords and abstracts for easy retrieval --- include links to .pdfs, .htmls, .docs, .ppts, etc. on your hard-drive or the web.
Interface those records with your Word processor as you write your thesis or paper or chapter or journal article to insure the in-text citation and the bibliography conform to the Style you want to follow (i.e., APA, MLA, Chicago, CBE, ACS, and hundreds of journals). There are more than 2,900 styles in EndNote X1 and hundreds in RefWorks.
Store special data such as text excerpts (a quotation, a definition, or a method); your comments after reading the article, etc. As you write, you can efficiently copy/paste your notes into your document, ready to polish there.
