There will be a variety of activities, including lightning talks, drone demonstrations, an augmented reality sandbox, and a Mapathon. We'll also have tables featuring campus and local organizations, as well as snacks (and cake!)

GIS Day is an international educational event for users of geographic information systems (GIS) technology to demonstrate real-world applications that are making a difference in our society (Source: www.gisday.com). GIS refers to software that captures, analyzes, displays and shares spatial or geographical data. Through maps, spatial modeling, and many other applications, GIS provides critical information for public health, government planning, neighborhood real estate, national defense, business, transportation and many more fields.
