This 2016 documentary looks at 1980s Romania, when a black market operative and a courageous translator smuggled and dubbed thousands of Western films, providing a glimpse of freedom and possibilities to those laboring under Ceaușescu's oppressive communist regime. Following the film Tudor Vlad (director, James M. Cox Jr. Center for International Mass Communication Training and Research) will lead a discussion.

This screening is part of the Cinema Politique, a film screening and discussion series that explores politics with an international perspective.
