Resignation

Resignation from a position in the Libraries requires notification to the supervisor as soon as possible. Notification should be in the form of a letter or email to your supervisor specifying the last actual working day and a copy of the letter/email should be sent to Libraries' Human Resources.

  • Monthly paid positions (faculty and staff) should give at least one month's written notice.
  • Salaried biweekly paid positions should give at least two weeks written notice.

The Libraries' Human Resources Department will schedule an exit interview with the employee to complete the exit process, including a review of the items on the University of Georgia's Faculty & Staff Separation Checklist and an audit of accrued annual leave hours that will be paid out to the exiting employee.
