Ms 1578, the Sanford Family Papers, currently focuses on Steadman Vincent Sanford, former President of the University of Georgia and Chancellor of the University system, his son Shelton Palmer Sanford, and grandson, banker Charles Steadman Sanford, Jr.

The Steadman Vincent Sanford sections include correspondence dealing with University business, texts of speeches and writings, photographs and approximately 75 scrapbooks dealing with the University, education, and Sanford himself.

Shelton Palmer sections focus on his experiences during World War I.

The Charles Steadman Sanford, Jr. materials include his writings on the banking industry and biographical information.
