VERTICAL FILES

The vertical files consist primarily of newspaper clippings from Georgia newspapers, along with some magazine articles and similar printed materials. The majority of the Georgia Room's files on Jimmy Carter focus on his 1976 presidential campaign, although they cover the period from 1965 through the 1980s. These files are organized into the following folders:

Early Political Career and Governorship:
10 folders organized by year, 1965-1975, with 1972-73 combined.

1976 Presidential Campaign:
19 folders organized by month, with April through July and October each having two folders, and November having three.

Presidency:
9 folders organized by year, 1977-1980, with each year divided into two folders, January-June and July-December

Post-Presidency:
2 folders, 1981-92 and 1983-.
Additional folders: Undated Articles, Briefing Papers Controversy, Emory Lectures and Conferences
