Georgiana Collection

The Georgiana Collection is an open collection of published materials related to the ongoing history of the state of Georgia, its people and culture. We are a non-circulating, permanent collection with self-service photocopy facilities. Our mission mirrors that of the University Libraries.

Primarily composed of current and out-of-print books and periodicals, the collection is located in the Georgia Room of the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library, on the third floor of the University of Georgia Main Library. The University of Georgia Libraries' online catalog (GIL) contains catalog records for all our materials, with the exception of vertical file materials.

The Georgia Room manages the collection of archival, non-circulating theses and dissertations produced by University of Georgia graduates. Information about finding and retrieving these items is available on our theses & dissertations page.

First-time users should refer to the online summaries of our circulation, collection, and gifts policies for more details about the collection's scope and its operating rules.
