Introduction to the Collection

The materials in this collection relate to commencement activities held at the University of Georgia from 1804 up through the present.  There is a wide range of material including sermons, dance schedules, honor student "blue lists", original poems, and strikingly designed "keepsake" programs.
 
Scope and Contents

UGA 04-002 is an open serial collection that is arranged chronologically.  It consists of original and photocopied materials from the Hargrett Rare Book & Manuscript Library's Georgia Room Collection that were fused with UGA 97-108.  In 2004 the collection was moved to its own distinct accession in  observance of the bicentennial of the first UGA commencement in 1804.
