Other Foreign Government Documents
British Government Documents
Most British documents are located on the 2nd floor of the Main Library. The University of Georgia Libraries maintains standing orders for the Parliamentary Debates and the Papers of both houses of Parliament of Great Britain. Retrospective volumes date back to 1509. Also included in this collection is the Irish University Press' series entitled British Parliamentary Papers, which is arranged by subject.
This collection contains only the publications of Parliament. Several indexes for use with British Parliamentary documents are available in the Libraries and online (See the guide Locating British Documents).
French Government Documents
The Journal Officiel de la Republique Francaise, 1871-1994 is housed at the Libraries' Repository. Retrieval of specific volumes may be requested at the Libraries' circulation desk. Any other publications of the French government are in the Libraries' general collection on the 2nd floor of the Main Library and may be identified through GIL.
German Government Documents
The University of Georgia Libraries owns several different collections of German Parliamentary publications. These can be located through GIL. Most German documents are located at the Libraries' Repository. Retrieval of specific volumes may be requested at the Libraries' circulation desk.
Other Selected Government Documents
Selected official documents of other foreign countries are part of the University of Georgia Libraries Government Documents collections, located mainly on the 2nd floor of the Main Library. Some of these are fully cataloged in the Library of Congress Classification System in call numbers J 1 through J 999 (except for J 84) and can be located in GIL. Some foreign publications are in country classification instead of Library of Congress. Holdings for these have generally not been added to since the 1970's. Holdings are maintained in the Government Documents shelflists.
